I have been practicing various styles of yoga for over a decade, but my dedication to the practice deepened when I took an Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga class in 2013 at Miami Life Center. I soon learned that Yoga has its roots in spirituality and was more than a physical discipline but a quest for self inquiry. I found that the Philosophy of Yoga resonated with what I learned from my mothers daily spiritual practice and my Buddhist background.
The practice showed me patience, gave me inner strength and proved its power by naturally removing long-held bad habits towards my mind and body. I continued to practice at MLC under the guidance of Patrick Nolan, Authorized Level 2 teacher for several years.
After moving to Western Massachusetts in 2016, I found that I could maintain a traditional Ashtanga Yoga practice at
Ashtanga Yoga Northampton. In 2017, I completed the AYN Immersion Program with Michelle Ryan. I had the pleasure to teach led Ashtanga, Mysore classes and workshops until the studio closed due to Covid in 2020.
I obtained my 200 hour teaching certification in 2015 at Corpo Yoga where I was able to apprentice under various Ashtanga Yoga teachers. I completed my 300 hour training in 2019 with Beryl Bender Birch through The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute.
I maintain a regular Ashtanga Yoga and Pranayama practice. I am always seeking to learn from senior teachers who have a deep knowledge and respect for the Ashtanga Yoga lineage; I have taken workshops with Sarath Jois, Richard Freeman, David Swenson, Petri Raisanen, David Keil, Tim Feldman, Kino MacGregor, Christine Hoar and David Robson. I have also taken various classes on Yoga Philosophy with Seth Powell of Yogic Studies.
