In Led Primary Series the student will be guided through the traditional vinyasa count and sequence of the Ashtanga Yoga Method. The group moves and breathes together in sync, but each student working within their own capacity. Ashtanga Yoga builds strength, flexibility and as the student memorizes the sequence and breath count, the practice becomes training to still the mind, as one must remain focused and maintain steadiness and ease.
This is a dynamic, fast passed class. Please arrive 15 minutes before class if you are new to this style of Yoga.

In Ashtanga Basics we will review the fundamentals of the Ashtanga Yoga method which involve synchronizing breath with movement. The sequence will include sun salutations, standing, sitting & twisting poses, backbends and inversions from the Primary and Intermediate Series. When applied regularly this practice quickly builds strength and flexibility. The repeated sequence allows the practice to become a moving meditation by uniting the body, the breath and the mind.
